Gabby and I have always been friends and plan on going to be that way forever. What makes it even better, our moms are besties.I always loved that fact until today.
See, school was over and we were on summer break; the temperature rose to a hundred and both moms agreed that me and Gabby’s long fluff would just make the season unbearable. So they decided to make a date for us to have our hair cut. I was oblivious to their plans and so was my friend.
”Hello”,my mother checked us into the feminine barbershop: Lady Razor. It was a small, local shop that we knew. We didn’t know it THAT well but we loved the mini-golf set they had.
”Gabby, Joyce”,they called us back to the chairs. We went without a fuss and enjoyed having our long locks washed. Our hairdressers caped us up and asked our moms what they wanted done.
Their answer froze us to our chair: Bring it down to the scalp. We could do nothing as the barbers used their clippers to buzz us down to one inch of hair.
“Good?”my barber asked my mom as Gabby’s asked her.
The women looked at each other, one whispered to the other and they both smiled. “Give them a fade”,they replied in unison. The clippers roared again as Gabby’s and I’s hair became even shorter. We were left with a bald fade.
Our mothers were satisfied and took pictures of us when our capes were off: it was embarrassing.
